During the stay-at-home quarantine, I got acquainted with a new Sony FE 2.8/90 Macro lens, using the outdoors as my subject. For me, the wonder of a prickly pear flower with its graceful petals and the jewel-like quality of a claret cut hedgehog bloom were accentuated by the close focus of the lens, filling up the camera frame, and my mind, with lightness and beauty. During days of uncertainty and anxiousness, these images gave me a sense of calm and assurance, as nature carried on untouched and unfazed by the global pandemic.
